Who we are
Sehaj Softworks develops and publishes Puzzle Season. For privacy questions about this app, contact us at sehajsoftworks@gmail.com. We do not operate a separate corporate privacy portal; email is the primary way to reach us.
Data deletion and your choices
This section describes how to delete or limit data for Puzzle Season on Google Play and the Apple App Store (com.puzzleseason.app). Puzzle Season does not use accounts. There is no “delete my account” button because there is no account to delete.
How to request deletion
- Email sehajsoftworks@gmail.com with the subject line Puzzle Season data deletion request.
- In the message, name the app (Puzzle Season) and, if helpful, the Google or Apple account you use for store purchases (optional).
- We aim to reply within a few business days and complete what we can within a reasonably short time.
What you can delete yourself (no email needed)
- On-device puzzle progress and settings: uninstall Puzzle Season, or clear the app’s storage in your device settings. That removes local progress, Path streak data, trophies, and local Unlimited status stored on the device.
- Daily reminder notifications: turn Daily reminder off in Settings, or deny notification permission in your device settings.
- Advertising and ad personalization: use your device’s privacy or advertising settings (Google or Apple).
What we delete or help with when you email us
- Emails and correspondence you sent to sehajsoftworks@gmail.com related to Puzzle Season (we delete or minimize what we keep after we finish helping you).
- Guidance for Google Play or Apple App Store purchases and subscriptions (billing records stay with the store under its policies; we do not store card numbers).
- Guidance for Google advertising identifiers where those are controlled in device or Google settings.
What we cannot fully erase from this app alone
- Data processed only by Google (AdMob, Google Play, the App Store, Firebase / Google Analytics, and similar services) under those providers’ privacy policies. We do not run our own account or analytics database for Puzzle Season. You may also use Google’s or Apple’s tools and policies for those services.
- Data in device backups (for example iCloud or Google backup) remains under your device vendor’s backup tools.
Retention
We do not keep a cloud profile of your puzzles. Local data lasts until you clear it or uninstall. Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond, then deleted or minimized. Ads and store purchase records follow Google’s and Apple’s retention policies.
Summary
Puzzle Season is a free puzzle app. Optional interstitial ads may appear between completed sessions for free users. Optional rewarded ads may unlock an extra hint, Magic notes, or continue when you ask. Unlimited (monthly or yearly subscription) turns ads off and unlocks unlimited hints, Magic notes, and free continues. The app does not require an account. Puzzle progress is stored on your device.
Information we collect
We do not operate our own account system and do not ask for your name or email inside the app.
The app stores locally on your device:
- Puzzle progress and settings (for example, completed days, season progress, music preference, trophies, Unlimited entitlement)
- Optional ambient music preference
- Whether optional prompts (such as rating or upgrade offers) have been shown, and your daily reminder preference
This data stays on your device unless you back up your device with your platform’s backup tools, which is controlled by you and your device vendor, not by a Puzzle Season server.
Share links
If you share a puzzle from the app (including after you finish one), the share text can include a link to puzzleseason.app with an encoded puzzle id. That link describes puzzle type, difficulty, and random seed only; it does not include your name, email, or other personal information. Anyone with the link can open the same puzzle in Puzzle Season if they have the app installed.
Local reminders
If you turn on Daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device (once per day at a time you choose) about your Path. These reminders are not sent from our servers. You can turn them off anytime in Settings. The operating system may ask for notification permission.
Ads and third parties
If you do not have an active Unlimited subscription, the app may show interstitial ads after you leave a completed puzzle (not while you are solving), and may offer optional rewarded ads for extra hints, Magic notes, or continues when you ask. Ads are provided by Google AdMob (and related Google advertising services).
Those services may collect or process information such as:
- Advertising / device identifiers
- IP address (which may indicate approximate location, such as country or region)
- Device and app information (for example device type, OS version)
- Ad interactions and related diagnostics used to deliver and measure ads
See Google’s privacy policies. You can limit ad personalization in your device’s privacy or advertising settings.
An active Unlimited subscription stops the app from requesting or showing ads while your subscription is active. The app checks your subscription status with Google Play or the App Store; expired subscriptions no longer grant Unlimited.
Analytics
On mobile, Puzzle Season uses Google Analytics (Firebase) to understand how features are used (for example which puzzle types are played, sessions completed or abandoned, helper use, and share or challenge-link opens). These metrics do not include puzzle board contents, challenge codes, or account identifiers (the app has no accounts).
Google may process:
- An app-instance identifier
- Device and app information
- Approximate region derived from IP address
Google processes this as a service provider under Google’s privacy policy. We do not run our own analytics database. Unlimited does not turn off analytics.
Purchases
Unlimited (monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions) is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. The store processes payment and purchase records under its own policies. We store only a local Unlimited flag on your device, plus what the store returns when you purchase or restore.
Permissions
The app may keep the screen awake while you use it so the device does not sleep mid-puzzle. Optional notification permission is used only if you enable Daily reminder. It does not require contacts, microphone, camera, or precise location. Internet access is used for ads and in-app purchases when available.
How long we keep data
- On-device progress and settings: until you clear app data or uninstall the app (or until your device backup/restore tools change them).
- Ads and purchases: retained by Google and the app stores under their policies; we do not run our own ad or payment database.
- Emails you send us: kept only as needed to respond to your request, then deleted or minimized when no longer needed.
International processing
Puzzle Season may be used worldwide. Google and the app stores may process ads and purchase-related data on servers outside your country, including outside Canada. Where those transfers occur, they are handled by those providers under their terms and applicable law.
Security
We take reasonable steps appropriate for a local-first app (no account server of ours). No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for controlling access to your device.
Children’s privacy
Puzzle Season is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are subject to the advertising network’s policies and your store’s age rating. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us by email, contact sehajsoftworks@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
- Subscribe to Unlimited (monthly or yearly) from Unlimited on the Home screen, or restore a prior purchase. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Google Play or App Store account settings.
- Turn Daily reminder on or off (and pick a time) from Settings.
- Clear app data or uninstall to remove locally stored progress.
- Mute music anytime in the app.
- Limit personalized ads in your device’s privacy or advertising settings.
- Review this policy and the Terms of use from Unlimited on the Home screen or Settings, or on our legal pages.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR, UK GDPR, or certain U.S. state laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not run user accounts or our own analytics backend (analytics data is held by Google), the practical ways to exercise these for Puzzle Season are usually: uninstall or clear app data (local data), use device ad controls, contact Google or Apple for store, ad, or analytics data they hold, and email us for correspondence we hold. For anything we hold from email correspondence, contact sehajsoftworks@gmail.com and we will help where we can.
We do not “sell” personal information in the everyday sense. AdMob’s use of identifiers for advertising may be considered a “sale” or “share” under some U.S. state laws; you can opt out of personalized ads via device settings and Google’s tools.
This website
Our legal pages at puzzleseason.app are informational only. They do not require an account. Hosting may involve infrastructure cookies or logs from our site host beyond our control.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
